Directions to Balsam's NH Location- Dogsledding Farmhouse

From Bethel, ME/Sunday River Ski Area:
Take Route 26 North from Bethel, ME to Errol, NH. Continue past Errol 12 miles and go up and over Dixville Notch. On the descent you will be looking at the Balsam's Grand Hotel. Continue passed Balsam's entrance on 26 North 3.8 miles (4 miles) and take Right onto Diamond Pond Road. After 0.8 (1) miles, stay straight through intersection (don't take left on Diamond Pond Road which veers toward Coleman State Park). Continue straight for 1.2 miles on Golf Links Road to the Yellow farmhouse (number 797) on the right. The house has a red barn next to it, a coralle in the front, and the New England Dogsledding pickup truck will be seen in the driveway. Road dead ends 100 yards ahead.

From North Conway and Mt. Washington Valley:
Travel on route 16 North through Mount Washington Valley, Gorham and Berlin, and the 13 mile woods along the Androscogin river to Errol, NH. In Errol, take left onto 26 North. Travel 12 miles and go up and over Dixville Notch. On the descent you will be looking at the Balsam's Grand Hotel. Continue passed Balsam's entrance on 26 North 3.8 miles (4 miles) and take Right onto Diamond Pond Road. From Boston and Southern NH:
Travel North on Interstate 93 through Manchester and Concord, NH. Continue on Interstate 93 North to Exit 35 towards “Lancaster and Twin Mountain”. Off ramp becomes Route 3 North. Continue straight on Route 3 North through Twin Mountain, Whitefield, and Lancaster. Continue to follow Route 3 as it veers to Right towards Colebrook, NH. Travel 35 miles on Route 3 into Colebrook, NH. Take a right at Route 26 intersection towards Dixville Notch. Continue on Route 26 North approximately 6.5 miles and take a left onto Diamond Pond Road. After 0.8 (1) miles, stay straight through intersection (don't take left on Diamond Pond Road which veers toward Coleman State Park). Continue straight for 1.2 miles on Golf Links Road to the Yellow farmhouse (number 797) on the right. Directions to Telemark Inn in Bethel, ME:
From Boston and South: Take Rt 95 North to the Maine Turnpike I-495 North past Portland ME and get off at Exit 63 in Gray ME, get onto Rt 26 North all the way to Bethel Maine. Get onto Rt 2 West (toward NH) and go about 4 miles to West Bethel Country Store (on left) take left there onto Flat Road go 2.8 miles take right onto Meadow Brook Bridge Road, go half mile (.5) and take next right onto Kings Highway go 3 miles to end of road where the Wilderness Lodge is located. (last two miles are gravel roadway)

Pre-caution or Caution about using GPS’s: Previous clients that have used GPS’s to navigate in the North Country have gotten themselves into trouble by ending up on non-maintained roadways (in the Winter and Mud-season) so please be smart like us country folks and: Please do not rely on GPS’s alone to navigate in the North country in Winter/Spring season due to the fact that many northern roads are not maintained for Winter travel. Use your maps and stay on well traveled roadways. (we do)
